Why We Build Office Furniture
We spend half our waking hours at work. Yet, most workspaces are equipped with furniture that either causes physical strain or creates visual clutter. Nordistan was born to solve both problems.
The journey began in Stockholm, Sweden, where our founder Farhan Sabir worked as an engineer. Surrounded by Sweden's deeply ingrained culture of workplace well-being (focusing on acoustics, natural light, and perfect ergonomic chairs), he experienced first-hand how physical comfort translates directly into cognitive endurance.
Upon returning to Pakistan, he noticed a massive gap: entries were dominated by visual clutter, hard rigid structures, and generic imports. Knowing that Pakistan has a world-class heritage of hand-crafted wood joinery, he set out to establish a workshop where Swedish ergonomics could be built directly in Lahore.
Today, our chairs use precision mesh components engineered in Scandinavia and Korea, while our executive desks and workstations are made from solid local timbers, finished by hand with natural oils by Lahori carpenters.
